As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are eyeing a move for Maritimo striker Marega, having sent scouts to watch him recently in the Portuguese league.
It is claimed that the Bhoys have enquired into signing the 24-year-old, and are waiting to find out his valuation from the Portuguese side.
They sent scouts to watch him take on Porto last week, as he set up a goal in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Uniao de Madeira.
Sporting Lisbon reportedly have the first option to sign the striker, who only signed for the club last summer from Tunisian outfit Esperance de Tunis, although they have not decided to take up the option to sign him yet.
It is also stated that Marega has a £2.5 million release clause, and Porto are believed to also be interested in signing him this summer.
Who is Moussa Marega?
Marega, 24, is a Malian international striker who moved to Maritimo last season, and has since scored eight goals and register four assists in 17 games. He broke into the Mali squad last season after his impressive campaign, and looks to have the talents needed to be a top level striker in the future.
A powerful player, he is well suited to leading the line in a 4-2-3-1 system, and is strong at holding the ball up, as well as running on to balls lifted over the top of the defence.
