To be played on Sunday 23rd August 2015 at 12:30. Venue: The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Odds: West Brom 9/2, Draw 13/5, Chelsea 8/13
West Bromwich Albion take on Chelsea at The Hawthorns this weekend with both sides seeking their first win of the new Premier League season.
The Baggies lost to Manchester City before drawing 0-0 with Watford the following weekend, while Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw with Swansea City only to lose heavily to Manchester City on Sunday.
Neither side will want to go three games without a victory, but for reigning champions Chelsea such a prospect is inconceivable if they have realistic aims of retaining their title.
West Brom are currently in the bottom three while Chelsea are 16th – just two places above Tony Pulis’s side despite having the same goal-difference.
Both sides could well further strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes but whatever happens, it is up to the players already at the respective clubs to get their campaigns off the ground as soon as possible.
Being the home side, West Brom may be quietly confident of causing a shock, especially if their impressive forwards can do what City did to Chelsea’s defence last weekend.
