Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to Henri Lansbury statement

Henri Lansbury

Henri Lansbury will remain at Nottingham Forest this season.

Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the news that Henri Lansbury will not leave the club this summer.

The 24-year-old midfielder’s future had come under speculation in recent weeks, with Championship rivals Burnley reported to be interested in him.

BBC Radio Nottingham quoted Forest manager Dougie Freedman as saying at the weekend that he has asked Burnley to include one of their players in the deal.

It seemed that Lansbury’s future lied away from the City Ground, but Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi's tweet on Wednesday evening suggested that the former Arsenal midfielder will remain at the Championship club (click here to read more).

The Championship club then released a statement on their official website making it abundantly clear that the 24-year-old midfielder will be staying for the foreseeable future.

One Forest player whose future is still wrapped up in uncertainty is winger Michail Antonio, who has gone on strike and wants a pay rise, according to The Sun.

This follows, according to the report, bids from Championship rivals Derby County and Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion, both of which were rejected by Forest.
