The midfielder also believes the upcoming trip to Arsenal will be tough for Brendan Rodgers' side.
The midfielder joined the Reds from Manchester City on a free transfer this summer and has immediately slotted into the centre of midfield alongside captain Jordan Henderson.
He is a number of new faces to have arrived at the club in this transfer window, and he says the additions have given Rodgers a number of options in midfield to allow him to play his high-energy style of football.
"There's a lot of options for us and a lot of different styles of players,” he told liverpoolfc.com.
“[There is] a lot of energy. That's how we want to play, we want to move the ball but we want to put teams under pressure as well when they have it. It depends how the manager wants to play - two or three, or one of us sitting or moving out. There's plenty of energy in there.”
Arsenal will be a tough game
It has been a good start for Milner at Anfield, with him enjoying two wins from his two games so far, with successive 1-0 wins over both Stoke and Bournemouth.
Next up is Arsenal, an altogether more challenging game than what they’ve come up against so far, with the Gunners being touted as potential title challengers by many this season.
It has been an indifferent start to their campaign though, with them losing to West Ham in their first game but narrowly beating Crystal Palace in their second game.
And Milner says it will be a tough game at the Emirates, as Arsene Wenger’s side will want to bounce back.
“It will be a tough game. They look sharp,” he added.
“They had a disappointing result in their first game but they are a quality team and will want to bounce back from that and try to get their run going. We have defended well in the first two games, if we can keep improving and keep clean sheets, we have quality going forward.”
