John Hartson reacts on Twitter to Celtic win, slams ridiculous second Malmo goal

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic won 3-2 against Malmo in the first leg of their Champions League playoff round.

John Hartson has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Celtic’s narrow victory over Malmo in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic got the better of Swedish outfit Malmo 3-2 at home in the first leg of the Champions League playoff round.

The Bhoys took the lead at Celtic Park as early as the third minute through Leigh Griffiths, and Nir Bitton added the second seven minutes later.

Malmo halved the deficit just seven minutes into the second half when former Celtic loanee Jo Inge Berget found the target from close range.

Ronny Deila’s side restored their two-goal advantage just past the hour mark, only for Berget to score again for Malmo with virtually the last kick of the match.

Former Celtic striker Hartson was following the game, and he was disappointed with the final result.

However, the former Arsenal and West Ham United man believes that the Hoops should still be able to go through to the group stage of the Champions League.

Hartson added on BT Sport Europe on Malmo’s second goal: "What’s ridiculous about the second goal from Malmo is that they were delighted with 3-1. They would have taken 3-1."

Over the course of the 90 minutes, hosts Celtic had 59% of the possession, took seven shots of which four were on target and earned six corners.
