Gallery: Everton fight back against Liverpool in mini-derby

Everton came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 in the under-21 Premier League against Liverpool in Southport.

Everton came from three goals down to draw with their local rivals Liverpool in their under-21 Premier League encounter last night.

There was a debut for Everton's new signing Mason Holgate at the heart of the Blues defence but not everything went according to plan for the signing from Barnsley when he gave away a penalty in the opening stages for bringing down Harry Wilson - though there is some debate as to whether it was inside the box or not.

The Welshman dispatched the penalty before Joao Carlos Teixeira doubled Liverpool's lead from outside the area before Sergi Canos put the Reds in a seemingly commanding lead.

The home side managed to get themselves on the board just before half time when a long-range Joe Williams strike deflected over Ryan Fulton.

In the second half, Everton were the more dominant side with a well-taken Conor McAleny goal got the Toffees back in business before Tom Davies capitalised on a fumble by Fulton to level the game up in the closing stages.

Along with McAleny from the Everton side, with Wilson and Teixeira from the Reds there were a couple of other familiar looking figures, notably Liverpool's Jordan Rossiter who played and scored for the Liverpool first team last season in a League Cup tie.

At the time of writing the images available are predominantly of Liverpool players, but here are some images from last night's action:
