Non-league starlet Dayle Southwell set for league move

HITC Sport understands that Birmingham, Wolves, Bolton, Blackburn and Peterborough are all keen on Boston United striker Dayle Southwell

Boston United starlet Dayle Southwell is set to be the latest non-league gem snapped up by a Football League club, HITC Sport understands.

The 21-year-old striker caught the eye last season when scored 32 goals in 46 appearances for the National League North side, and he has already followed up that form with four goals in four this term.

Now HITC Sport understands that up to a dozen Football League clubs have been tracking Southwell in recent weeks and have clearly been impressed.

The clubs leading the chase are understood to be Championship sides Wolves, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, whilst Peterborough - renowned for plucking players from non-league - are also very much in contention to land him.

Southwell began his career with Grimsby Town, before he moved across Lincolnshire and joined Boston last summer where he finished as one of the top-scorers in the country.
