Re: Benzema I understand he is on the transfer-table. Arsenal sitting at the table, but Wenger hasn't said "all in" yet #AFC— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) August 19, 2015
Benzema is one of the best strikers in the world and has been on the books of Madrid since the summer of 2009, when he joined them from French giants Lyon.
The 27-year-old has won La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Champions League with the Spanish powerhouse in the past six years.
The France international would be a good signing for Arsenal, but many will wonder why he would leave Madrid at this stage of his career.
Leaving Los Blancos for the Gunners would be a step down in his career, and Benzema can still go strong for a few more years.
Moreover, one wonders why Madrid would want to sell the former Lyon star. Benzema is the only recognised number nine in coach Rafael Benitez’s squad at the moment.
True, Cristiano Ronaldo can operate as a ‘striker’ and Jese Rodriguez is a talented young forward, but Madrid do need to retain the services of Benzema this season, especially as they will struggle to find a replacement for him at this stage of the summer transfer window.
