Germany international midfielder Schweinsteiger joined the Red Devils from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich last month.
Former United defender Ferdinand has said that he has been told that the 31-year-old has settled in well at Old Trafford.
Speaking on BT Sport Europe ahead of United’s Champions League playoff round first-leg tie against Club Brugge on Tuesday evening, the former West Ham United and Leeds United centre-back said: “I was speaking to a few of the lads here.
"They said that he (Schweinsteiger) has fitted in so well. He is an easy-going guy.”
Good start to Manchester United career
Schweinsteiger arrived at Old Trafford as one of the best midfielders in world football, having won the World Cup and the Champions League among other trophies.
The German star has already started to show his class for United, despite not being 100% fit or at his best.
The former Bayern man has played just over an hour in the Premier League so far this season, but in both the games Louis van Gaal’s side have kept a clean sheet and have won.
Schweinsteiger came on at half time in place of Michael Carrick against Club Brugge on Tuesday and proved to be important in United’s 3-1 win.
