Report: West Ham pull out of deal for Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor

Tottenham forward Adebayor has already turned down Aston Villa, and now West Ham have pulled out of a deal.

According to the Mirror, West Ham have decided to pull out of a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor, with Slaven Bilic preferring to complete a move for Javier Hernandez of Manchester United.

The Hammers’ were close to sealing a deal for Adebayor, with the board willing to sanction a loan deal for the 2015/16 campaign. They were set to pick up the entirety of his £110,000-per-week wages, and Adebayor himself was keen on the move due to his wish to stay in London.

However, Bilic has opted against finalising the signing, as he does not believe Adebayor would be a good choice, especially when a deal for Hernandez could still be completed before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

There is no knowing what Adebayor’s future now holds, with a move from Spurs planned this summer.

He has already turned down the chance to sign with Aston Villa, and former boss Tim Sherwood, as he wanted to stay in the capital, and with West Ham now cancelling a deal, there are no clubs looking to sign him.

The Lilywhites are looking to get the 31-year-old off their books in the next two weeks, and they may be hoping Villa revive their interest in Adebayor if a transfer is to be completed.
