Philippe Senderos, Charles N’Zogbia, Aleksandar Tonev and Kieran Richardson could all leave the club.
The Villa boss has taken charge of his first transfer window at a club this summer and has brought in a number of new faces already to help get over the loss of both Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke.
He has though, deliberately targeted younger players this summer to give him the biggest possible squad without exceeding the 25-man squad limit, with signings such as Adama Traore and Jordan Amavi under 21 years old and not included.
However, Sherwood is still intent on clearing out some of the players he inherited from former manager Paul Lambert when he took over in January, with Philippe Senderos, Charles N’Zogbia and Aleksandar Tonev all being told they have no future at the club according to the Birmingham Mail.
Kieran Richardson could stay
Kieran Richardson will also be allowed to leave the club should a suitable offer come in for the 30-year-old, with Amavi having taken his left-back spot this season and impressing in his appearances so far.
Of the four, Richardson is the most likely to remain in the Premier League given his vast experience, while he also performed well in the second half of last season under Sherwood.
The rest though, may be hard pushed to find another club in England’s top flight having failed to impress in their stints with various clubs thus far.
