Newcastle United appear to be on the verge of another summer signing.
Florian Thauvin has been photographed emerging from his Newcastle United medical this afternoon.
The picture was posted on Twitter by Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie and comes after a report from the Guardian claiming the 22-year-old right winger was on the verge of a £12million move to St James’ Park.
The report also stated that Newcastle's Remy Cabella would head to Marseille on loan as part of the deal and temporary end what has been a disappointing spell in England for the former Montpellier play-maker.
Thauvin has played 85 times for Marseille, scoring 15 goals and providing 18 assists in the process, and he has also turned out 48 times for Bastia and three times for Grenoble Foot 38.
Newcastle have already signed four players this summer in the form of Ivan Toney, Chancel Mbemba, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Georginio Wijnaldum but they could do with additional width and Thauvin’s seemingly imminent signing will certainly give them that.
Despite the Guardian claiming the deal will be for £12million, Downie's tweet suggested it will actually be for £13million but we are awaiting confirmation of the precise fee.
