There is some positivity at Nottingham Forest after all.
Young talent Oliver Burke was handed his debut for the club last night, and did not look out of place in the 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic at the City Ground.
The 18-year-old played all 90 minutes, making 62 touches, completing 75 per cent of his passes, and creating two goalscoring opportunities.
He took to Twitter after the game to express his wonderment at making his first team bow...
Speechless. Dream come true! I'd like to thank the lads on getting me through the game and fans, amazing experience #nffc— Oliver Burke (@OliverBurke55) August 18, 2015
Amid all the uncertainty surrounding the future of star player Michail Antonio, it is refreshing to see a youngster so joyous to be simply - playing football.
Antonio was left out of the side last night after manager Dougie Freedman confirmed he was not in the right frame of mind to play, telling The BBC that Forest had rejected a transfer bid for his services.
Another player linked away recently has been Henri Lansbury, but he remains focused and part of the side, and took to social media himself to praise the young side, which also included Tyler Walker and Jorge Grant, who came off the bench early in the second half.
Great effort from the lads big Dozzaaa unreal tonight credit to the young lads thought they were out standing #NFFC— Henri Lansbury (@lansburyhenri) August 18, 2015
