Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi comments on Antonio and Derby via Twitter

Nottingham Forest owner says he will not sell to Derby County.

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has responded via Twitter to the furore surrounding the future of Michail Antonio.

The winger was left out of the squad to face Charlton Athletic last night, with manager Dougie Freedman telling BBC Radio Nottingham after the game this was because Antonio lacked the necessary focus.

This was after discussions between himself and the player after Forest turned down a bid for his services earlier in the week.

Freedman's comments sparked worry Antonio is looking to leave the club, with HITC reporting Forest have rejected bids from Middlesbrough and Derby County.

Fawaz was then asked directly by a supporter if Antonio would be leaving for Derby, to which he responded with certainty that he would not sanction such a deal.

Manager Dougie Freedman was very matter of fact after the game, explaining what had happened, but would not be drawn on what will happen between now and the end of the transfer window.

Whether Antonio has a future at Nottingham Forest is unclear, but Al-Hasawi will surely have no option but to stick to his guns regarding a non-sale to bitter East Midlands rivals Derby County.
