Forest could only manage to secure a scoreless draw with Charlton on Tuesday evening, as Dougie Freedman took charge of his third Championship match of the season.
Forest managed 20 shots, but were wasteful in front of goal, managing to hit the target just once, and affixing to find the back of the net.
They looked a solid side, and although Charlton dominate possession, Forest were good at holding the ball in the opposition half, and really should have made more of their chances.
Although a 0-0 draw at home should not be praised, the work Freedman has done with a young side should earn him plaudits, and the future looks bright for Forest.
Walker looks to be a consistent member of the first-team, whilst Grant appears to be a real prospect, and it would be no surprise to see them continue their roles in Freedman’s plans.
There may have been little to shout about after the draw, but Forest fans took to Twitter to praise the impressive performances of their youngsters.
#NFFC Impressed with George Grant last night ,Burke was also good but needs to work on final ball, no hoof ball without Antonio in squad— Anthony Dewick (@anthonydewick29) August 19, 2015
Was very impressed with Jorge Grant last night. Did more in that half than certain other players have when given chances recently... #NFFC— Roman Filipowicz (@fritzromanov) August 19, 2015
Club is bigger than them though so we move on. Future is bright with like of Walker, Burke (O) and Grant. #nffc— Adam Edwards (@AdamEdw) August 19, 2015
With the likes of Osborn, Walker, Grant and Burke to come into the team and AR and CC to return, we could have a good end to season #nffc— Martyn Gray (@mgray11) August 19, 2015
I thought Grant was excellent tonight. Game changed when Dex & Ward went off. Cant remember last time we pressed with such energy. #NFFC— Ben Belfield (@Benando_Torres) August 18, 2015
