The West Ham forward is 'very sad' that he'll miss his side's next two games.
An emotional and frustrated Mauro Zarate took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to declare that he is 'very sad' to be injured and that he will not be available to play in West Ham United's next two matches.
The Argentine will now focus on a 'fast recovery' but his reaction - as well as overuse of smiley faces - suggest this setback comes at a bad time for the 28-year-old as he looked to break into Slaven Bilic's side for good.
Zarate started his Premier League season brilliantly, scoring at the Emirates Stadium as West Ham beat Arsenal 2-0.
But the forward is now out injured - at a time when the Hammers are rather short up front anyway.
Very sad by the injury and not to be available to play the next two matches !!! I now focus on a fast recovery.— Mauro Zarate (@mau_zeta) August 19, 2015
West Ham face Bournemouth in their next Premier League clash and a win would be timely for Bilic's side. A 2-1 loss at home to Leicester City last weekend counteracted the elation of the Arsenal victory, creating only frustration and disappointment.
The east London side's pursuit of a new striker, meanwhile, doesn't appear to be progressing in any way just yet.
