Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has written in The Daily Mail that Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat should play John O’Shea.

Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp has suggested that Advocaat should play Republic of Ireland international defender O’Shea.
“Their defending has been terrible but captain John O’Shea is on the bench,” the Englishman wrote in The Daily Mail. “He may not be the answer but he’s got experience and some affinity with the fans.
“And he can’t do any worse than Younes Kaboul or Sebastian Coates. The way they are defending they could save the pundits some time and take a circle out onto the pitch so they’re easy to pick out.
Sunderland have made a bad start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, having lost their opening two games of the season.
Following a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium, the Black Cats went down 3-1 to Norwich City at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats are back in action on Saturday afternoon, when they take on Swansea City at home in the Premier League.
