Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has been singing the praises of Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley in The Daily Mail.
Redknapp rates the England international highly, and believes that he is one of the most talented players in the current Everton squad.
In fact, the former Spurs and Liverpool star claims that the 21-year-old is worth more than his teammates John Stones and Romelu Lukaku.
“If Stones is worth £30million and Lukaku cost about the same, then Barkley has to be worth more than both,” the Englishman write in The Daily Mail.
“I love this kid. He was one of my players to watch in 2013-14 and I hope this is the season when he finally fulfills all that talent.
“He can make mistakes and give the ball away but he is such an exciting player he is worth that risk.”
Positive start to the season
Barkley is a genuinely talented young footballer who has started the 2015-16 Premier League campaign strongly.
The attacking midfielder has scored two goals and created as many chances in two league games.
The youngster has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 80%, and has won three headers and three dribbles.
Everton are aiming to finish in a European place in the Premier League table this season, and Barkley will play a key role in that attempt.
