Crystal Palace star Yannick Bolasie would be a great signing for Tottenham, says Graham Roberts.
Former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts has told Kicca that Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie would be a great signing for Spurs.
Bolasie, 26, has emerged as a Premier League star with Crystal Palace, dazzling defences with his combination of pace and power down the flanks.
His superb performances for Palace have triggered speculation over his future at Selhurst Park, with Tottenham interested in a deal for the DR Congo international according to the Daily Mirror.
The uncertainty surrounding Bolasie's future only increased when he told the London Evening Standard earlier this week that he could be open to a transfer away from Palace.
Now, with Tottenham seemingly leading the race for Bolasie, ex-Spurs defender Roberts has suggested on Kicca that Bolasie is just what the club need right now.
"Crystal Palace's Yannick Bolasie has hinted he would like to join Tottenham and I for one think he would be great for the club," said Roberts. "He has pace and that is clearly what we are missing in the team at the moment," he added.
Spurs clearly lack pace in the final third, and Bolasie certainly brings that in droves. His performances for Palace last season suggested that he can provide a constant supply into the penalty area, something that Tottenham hitman Harry Kane needs.
Palace are under no pressure to sell though, and Spurs may have to spend heavily if they really do want to sign Bolasie this summer.
