According to Galatasaray general secretary Fatih Isbecer, West Ham target Burak Yilmaz is not for sale.
Based on quotes transcribed by talkSPORT, the club official is adamant the club are not in a position to sell one of their star assets, despite earlier reports suggesting the Hammers were on the verge of landing the 30-year-old after agreeing personal terms.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is desperate to land a new striker before the transfer window shuts, amid an injury crisis that has resulted in the loss of Ecuadorian Enner Valencia and Englishman Andy Carroll.
Nonetheless, the London outfit's hopes of signing the experienced forward have been dashed, following Isbecer's recent comments.
The Galatasaray general secretary is quoted as saying: "We have not received an official bid for Yilmaz and do not want to sell him."
Yilmaz has made one appearance for the Turkish giants this season, scoring on one occasion and fashioning a further two chances for his Galatasaray team-mates.
His efforts have seen him covert 25% of his total attempts, while he has successfully completed 81% of his total attempted passes.
