Didi Hamann comments on Manchester United's much-touted Pedro deal

Didi Hamann has questioned whether Pedro is enough for Manchester United.

Manchester United continue to be linked with Barcelona forward Pedro, with SkySports reporting the Red Devils have agreed personal terms.

After making hard work of a home game against Club Brugge in the Champions League qualifiers, which they eventually won 3-1, Didi Hamann questioned whether the Spaniard is enough for them.

The former Liverpool star commented via his Twitter page that Manchester United need more options in attack.

Pedro would certainly be a step in the right direction, but it is hard not to disagree that they need another option, if Wayne Rooney continues his current form.

These options could come in the form of players already at the club, with James Wilson and Javier Hernandez on the fringes of the side, but they must be given chances.

Louis van Gaal has backed striker Wayne Rooney to score the goals the side needs, but three games into the season he is yet to look like finding the net.

He needs to be challenged, and Pedro may provide this. A firing Rooney would make the situation look a lot better, but if he does not pick up before the transfer window closes then the club may even consider signing another goalscorer as well as of the Barcelona man.
