The playmaker has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane recently.
Writing on Kicca, Anderton said:
“It’s absolutely essential Tottenham keep hold of Christian Eriksen and ignore any interest from Juventus.
“He’s the main man for the club when it comes to creating goals. He has that little bit of magic in the final third of the pitch that can open teams up.
“For me he is Tottenham’s most talented player and that is why he must stay.”
While Graham Roberts – also on Kicca – seconded that view:
"It’s hugely important Christian Eriksen stays at Tottenham this season and just as important we get another striker for him to service.
"The thought of Eriksen, Kane and another speedy young forward plus the new lad N'Jie in attack is a very exciting prospect."
The Dane has proven to be the standout purchase of the last few years for Spurs and his capture back in 2013 - amidst the attention of some of the game’s biggest clubs - was a major coup.
He has since had his share of ups and downs and isn’t always the influential figure his talent suggests he should be.
Despite that, he remains Tottenham’s most creative outlet and his knack for vital goals and spectacular free-kicks make him one of Mauricio Pochettino’s most dangerous weapons.
Daniel Levy is believed to have no intention of letting the 23-year old go however, and reports of a new contract being prepared surfaced on Monday.
The news will come as a relief to Spurs fans who will expect the club to focus on bringing in the types of players who can better utilise Eriksen's talents, as opposed to flogging their biggest assets.
