Confirmed: Sheffield Wednesday v Reading line-ups

Sheffield Wednesday will face Reading in the Championship this evening…

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to return to winning ways in the Championship this evening, when they take on Reading at home.

Wednesday will head into the match at Hillsborough on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town away from home at Portman Road on Saturday.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side started the 2015-16 Championship campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bristol City at home, before hammering Mansfield Town 4-1 at Hillsborough in the first round of the League Cup.

The defeat to Ipswich will have come as a disappointment to the Owls, who will be determined to pick up all three points against Reading this evening.

Meanwhile, the Royals will head into tonight’s match on the back of a goalless draw with Leeds United at the Madjeski Stadium.

Reading started their season with a 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City away from home at St. Andrew’s Stadium, before defeating Colchester United 1-0 in the first round of the League Cup.

This is how Wednesday and Reading will line up tonight:

Sheffield Wednesday XI:

Reading XI: Bond, Gunter, Taylor, McShane (c), Ferdinand, Norwood, Williams, Quinn, Tshibola, Robson-Kanu, Sa

Subs:  Al-Habsi, Obita, Hector, Blackman, Cox, Fosu, Stacey
