HITC Sport understands Brighton Hove & Albion have agreed a deal to sign Shrewsbury Town defender Connor Goldson.
HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club Brighton are poised to sign highly-rated Shrewsbury Town defender Connor Goldson.
Goldson has earned himself a reputation as one of the best young defenders in the country after impressing at Shrewsbury over the last couple of years.
The 6ft,3in central defender was instrumental in helping Shrewsbury win promotion to League One last season and was rewarded for his stellar performances by being named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year, as well as scooping supporters Player of the season and the Players' Player of the Season at the club's annual awards last season.
A number of clubs including Leeds were interested in Goldson, with Shrewsbury rejecting an offer from Leeds earlier this summer.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton is thought to be a big admirer of Goldson and sees him as someone who huge potential for the future.
Goldson's arrival at Brighton could clear the way for the club to allow Lewis Dunk to move to Fulham as Goldson would be a ready-made replacement for Dunk.
