West Brom's Saido Berahino reportedly wants Tottenham move settled soon

Could the West Bromwich Albion forward be closing in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur?

According to a report from ESPN, West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is keen to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes.

The broadcaster claims sources have told them that the England under-21 international wants a deal done soon and that his desire to move to White Hart Lane could be used by Tottenham to bring the price down.

It goes on to say that West Brom want £25million for the forward while Tottenham are reluctant to pay so much for a player who has two years left on his current contract.

Berahino scored 20 goals in 45 matches for the Baggies last season and he has a total of 29 goals and eight assists for the club to date.

The 22-year-old also knows Tottenham forward Harry Kane well from their time together on international duty and they could form a highly effective partnership if Berahino did arrive.

With two weeks left before the transfer window closes, there is still plenty of time to push a deal over the line. But in truth the ball remains firmly in Tottenham’s court, because West Brom are not going to part with a vital player unless they get the best possible deal, regardless of his alleged desire to move on.
