Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Fazio takes step close to Spurs exit

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Enfield Independent has reported that Tottenham and West Brom have agreed a £5 million fee for defender Federico Fazio.

Fazio was signed by Spurs last summer but failed to produce his best form in his debut season at White Hart Lane.

The paper states that the arrival of Toby Alderweireld has pushed Fazio further down the pecking order at the club.

The Daily Star has reported that Everton are leading the race to sign Dynamo Kiev player Andriy Yarmolenko.

Tottenham are one of the other sides interested according to the paper, but the Toffees reportedly have the edge in the race to sign him.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure to add more attacking players to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told the Scotsman that Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa has come to a quick realisation at the club.

Oduwa, on loan with the Gers, has been criticised for showboating in his last game for the Scottish giants.

Warburton has suggested that the player has been subjected to a level of scrutiny because of the size of the football club.

“He’s still a young guy and he’s woken up, bought three or four newspapers and seen himself splashed all over the back pages. That wouldn’t happen down south,” he said.
