Tony Yeboah reflects on that goal for Leeds against Liverpool

The Leeds United great still regularly watches one of the best goals ever scored.

Former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his wonder-strike against Liverpool back in 1995.

A full 20 years have passed since the ex-Ghana international let rip, scoring with the instep of his right foot to leave Reds goalkeeper David James with absolutely no chance of saving it.

It was not the only great goal Yeboah scored during his time at Leeds, but it is arguably the most memorable of the lot and one that continues to be watched time and again by Whites fans and neutrals alike.

And Yeboah himself, as it turns out, with the 49-year-old admitting it is a goal that remains close to his heart.

When asked when the last time was that he watched it, the Elland Road favourite told the YEP, “Honestly? Last week,” proving it is a strike that continues to resonate not just with Leeds’ fans but with the man who created an unforgettable moment in the club’s history with a single flick of his majestic boot.
