Report: Watford have no interest in Mario Balotelli

Watford are not looking to sign Mario Balotelli from Liverpool.

According to the Watford Observer, the Hornets are not looking to sign Mario Balotelli from Liverpool this summer, despite reports linking them with the striker.

ESPN claimed that Balotelli was a surprising transfer target for the Golden Boys, as the Italian striker looks to end his dreadful Liverpool career. He has never truly settled down with the Reds, and the 25-year-old has been placed on the transfer list by Brendan Rodgers.

He is a proven Premier League striker, but the issues with his temperament and mentality make him a questionable signing for many clubs.

The newly promoted side are said to still be on the look out for another striker, as head coach Quique Sanchez Flores would like another option should he have to change his style of play from the 4-2-3-1 system he has been utilising.

Balotelli would certainly be a strange option for the club to move for, despite his obvious talent and the links between his agent Mino Raiola and Watford owner Gino Pozzo.

The supposed transfer came out of nowhere, and the Observer report has not taken long to play down the report, claiming that Watford have absolutely no interest in moving to sign Balotelli before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
