Report: Bologna in advanced talks to sign Mattia Destro from AS Roma

Norwich City, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with AS Roma striker Mattia Destro.

Bologna are in advanced talks to sign Mattia Destro from AS Roma, according to ESPN.

It has been reported that the newly-promoted Serie A outfit are willing to offer the Italy international striker a five-year contract.

Interested Premier League clubs

The latest development in the future of Destro will come as a blow to Premier League duo Norwich City and West Ham United, both of whom are reported to be interested in the 24-year-old.

ESPN quotes Norwich manager Alex Neil has saying that he wants the former Siena striker, while TuttoMercatoWeb recently claimed that West Ham are interested in him.

Earlier this summer, North London outfit Tottenham Hotspur were credited with an interest in Destro, with claiming that the club’s sporting director Franco Baldini and his Roma counterpart Walter Sabatini met in London for talks.

Good player?

Destro is 24 years of age and has potential, and he could be a good addition at the right price.

The former Siena striker scored three goals and created as many chances in 14 Serie A appearances for Milan during his loan spell at the Rossoneri last season.

In 16 league matches for Roma during the 2014-15 campaign, Destro could score just five goals and created only three chances.

During the 2013-14 season, the Italian scored 13 goals and created 11 chances in 20 league matches, while in 2012-13 he scored six goals and created 20 chances in 21 Serie A games.
