Former Gunner Ray Parlour has suggested what his old rivals Tottenham Hotspur need to focus on sorting out.
Former Gunner Ray Parlour told talkSPORT that he feels the key for Tottenham this season is ensuring that their home form is bullet proof.
Parlour has suggested that if Tottenham are going to progress this season, they need to turn White Hart Lane into a fortress.
Spurs got their home form off to a decent start with a draw against Stoke City, though Tottenham did see a two goal lead disintegrate during the game.
“They need to get their home form sorted out, not just because it was difficult when I played there, but it needs to be a fortress because it has to be difficult for teams travelling to White Hart Lane,” he told talkSPORT.
White Hart Lane can be a real asset
White Hart Lane is a tight ground, which can be very noisy and intimidating for any opposition side to travel to.
When Tottenham are playing well, the volume inside the ground can become very loud.
That has the ability to put Tottenham’s opposition onto the back foot, allowing Spurs to get into a game faster and stay on the front foot.
The issue for Spurs is how they defend a lead the next time they’re in front because they can’t afford to let important points slip from their grasp, given how competitive the battle for a position in the top four has become.
Hopefully it’s a lesson learnt and something which will make the club stronger moving forward.
