Zoet looks to be signing a new PSV contract, despite interest from Crystal Palace.
Palace boss Pardew is said to be a big fan of the goalkeeper, but Marcel Brands has told SoccerNews that he is expected to sign a new contract in the coming days.
He said: “We are in the final phase of discussions about that. Probably this week he puts his signature on a contract until 2019.”
This deals a blow to Palace, who had been linked with making a move for the stopper, as reported by De Telegraaf.
The 24-year-old was a key figure in PSV clinching the Eredivisie title last season, playing 41 times in all competitions, and conceding just 29 games in 32 league fixtures.
The report states that Pardew attempted to bring Zoet to Newcastle when he was managed at St James’ Park, and with his contract expiring in 2017, he was looking to complete a cut-price deal for the stopper this summer.
The transfer window closes in just over two weeks, and despite already signing a new goalkeeper in Alex McCarthy, Zoet would be a further upgrade in the ‘keeping positions.
However, a transfer looks extremely unlikely now, with Brands claiming that he will be finalising a new contract until 2019 in the coming days.
