Leeds boss Uwe Rosler comments on Bristol City's alleged £8m Gray bid

The Leeds United boss has been talking ahead of their next league clash.

Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has been speaking to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay ahead of the Whites’ Championship match against Bristol City on Wednesday.

Leeds are yet to win this season and yet they have drawn against Burnley and Reading with performances that suggest better things are to come. But Rosler has acknowledged just what his side is up against when some sides in the division can bid big in an effort to turn their squad into title contenders.

Hay posted on Twitter that Rosler had acknowledged City’s alleged £8million bid (as reported by the Bristol Post) for Brentford forward Andre Gray, with the Leeds boss saying, “That shows you what we’re competing against.”

Gray has scored two goals in two matches so far this season and he ended the previous campaign with 18 goals in all competitions.

Whether he is worth £8million (or more) remains to be seen but that is not a fee that Leeds are likely to be paying for a player any time soon.

That does not mean Leeds have not strengthened up front themselves and Chris Wood and Lee Erwin could well go on to become the dream strike partnership for Rosler this season and beyond.

But next up for the club is a side that are seemingly willing to spend huge sums to get out of the division, while Leeds will be relying for the most part on their outstanding youth development.
