Newcastle United are nearing completion of a deal to sign Florian Thauvin.
French outlet Maxifoot report the attacker has agreed wages worth three million Euros per year - converted at £2.1 million.
Still to be established is the length of contract he will sign, with this set to be discussed on Wednesday.
HITC reported early on Tuesday evening that Thauvin was set to arrive for a medical.
Maxifoot report this will take place on Wednesday, with Newcastle and Marseille having agreed a fee.
The Frenchman is one of his country's most highly rated prospects, and has six goals in 10 games at international under-21 level.
Remy Cabella is going the other way on loan as part of the agreement, with Maxifoot reporting he was due to undergo a medical with Marseille on Tuesday evening.
Cabella struggled at Newcastle last season after his summer move from Montpellier, scoring just one and providing only two assists.
