Bristol City are poised to sign unsettled Brentford striker Andre Gray after having an offer accepted for his services, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Gray's future at Brentford has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with the likes of Hull City, Burnley and Queens Park Rangers all chasing him.
Brentford have rejected bids from Hull and Burnley for last season's top scorer, but they have reluctantly accepted City's offer which is thought to be close to their £9 million valuation
Gray scored against City last weekend and Robins boss Steve Cotterill has decided to switch his attentions to the former Luton Town man after seeing Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle turn down a move to Ashton Gate.
The striker has now been given permission to hold talks and undergo a medical at City, and should all go well he will become the club's new record signing.
The 24-year-old scored 18 goals last season for Brentford after joining from Luton and has scored twice in their opening two games so far this term.
