Rodney Marsh predicts the number of managers Sunderland will have this season

Sunderland have lost both their Premier League matches so far this season.

Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Sunderland will have three different managers this season.

Marsh made his prediction following the Black Cats’ second successive defeat in the Premier League at the weekend.

Having suffered a heavy 4-2 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on the opening weekend of the season, Sunderland were looking to use of home advantage to pick up all three points against Norwich City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

However, Dick Advocaat’s side went down 3-1 in front of their home fans, who must be dreading yet another season of fighting against relegation to the Championship.

Following the loss, Marsh predicted on Twitter that Sunderland will have changed two managers by the end of the season.

During the past few years, Sunderland have changed managers during the course of the season and have survived in the Premier League.

Gus Poyet took over the first-team duties at the Stadium of Light in October 2013 and secured Premier League survival at the end of the 2013-14 season.

However, the Uruguayan manager was replaced by Dick Advocaat in March 2015, and the Dutchman made sure that the Black Cats remain in the top flight of English football for the 2015-16 campaign.
