Former Leeds United striker Robbie Blake told talkSPORT that he thinks everything needs to be centred around stability for the club this season.
Blake has suggested that the German is the right man to take Leeds forward over the coming months, as the club look to get into a position where promotion into the Premier League is possible.
“Now that they’ve brought Uwe in – Leeds this season, I think they’ll have a good year with good support and now it’s about stability and hopefully they can get that with Uwe, who can help them kick on up there,” he told talkSPORT.
Plenty of positives
Leeds have plenty of positives as they develop and look to progress on the 15th place finish which was achieved under Neil Redfearn last season.
The club have a very good mix of younger players, but Rosler showed no signs of sitting back on that positive, bringing in some much needed signings earlier in the summer.
He’s improved the size of the squad and his options in key areas and the first challenge will be to try and get into that group of top six teams competing up near the top of the table.
It’s far too early into the season to be able to judge Leeds and the real tests are yet to come for the side.
It will be interesting to see how they cope through a difficult winter period and also the occasions where injuries and suspensions pile up, causing key players to be unavailable at important times.
