Parlour suggests why Wilshere will be disappointed following latest setback

Former Arsenal favourite Ray Parlour feels for current midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Former Arsenal favourite Ray Parlour stressed on talkSPORT that he feels Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere will be extremely disappointed with his latest injury setback.

Wilshere is suffering with another ankle problem, which has been the common fitness issue, which has plagued the majority of his career.

Parlour has explained that the problem has come at a very difficult time for the player, as he was just finding some of his best form before returning for an important pre-season.

“He’ll be disappointed, he really will, he came back to pre-season early and thought this could be my chance to get into that team, he showed what he can do with those two goals for England – He’s had a lot of setbacks in his career so far and let’s hope he can get back in quickly,” he told talkSPORT.

Has to stay mentally strong

It’s important that Wilshere, along with his manager Arsene Wenger, work hard so that the player stays mentally strong.

It can be very demoralising for a player to be so routinely kept out of action with a common problem, especially when he feels he may be getting over it and back to his best.

Wenger needs to judge effectively how much emotional support the player needs and how hard to push him in terms of his recovery.

Fortunately the Gunners have plenty of midfield cover and Wilshere is going to have to work doubly hard to get back into the team over the coming months, as he gets over this latest ankle setback.
