Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has taken to social networking site Twitter to comment on the injury he picked up at the weekend.
The 26-year-old suffered a groin problem during the Magpies’ Premier League game against Swansea City away from home at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
The France international failed to complete the match, which ended in a 2-0 win for the hosts, and was taken off at half time.
Following the game, Sissoko took to Twitter to give an update on his injury, stating that he will be resting until Monday.
Little pain on the adductor during the game. At rest until Monday. Thank you for your messages friends! #NUFC— Moussa Sissoko (@MoussaSissoko) August 15, 2015
Blow for Newcastle United?
Sissoko is one of the best players in the current Newcastle squad and will be hugely important for the team this season.
Although the Frenchman has not started the 2015-16 campaign brilliantly, his influence on the team can be massive.
Newcastle, who have yet to win in the Premier League this season, will take on Manchester United away from home on Saturday.
If Sissoko is not fit and does not start, then the Magpies’ chances of even picking up a point at Old Trafford will be severely decimated.
