James Forrest dismisses potential problem over Scott Allan's Celtic move

Celtic star James Forrest feels Scott Allan will get the chance to settle in comfortably at the club.

Celtic player James Forrest has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he doesn’t think Scott Allan’s connection with Rangers will matter when he starts playing for the Bhoys.

The paper states that Allan suggested in the past that Rangers would be his preferred destination in terms of Glasgow clubs, but he’s linked up with Ronny Deila’s side, which makes sense for a number of reasons.

One of the things he may be worrying about is how he’ll be received by Celtic fans, because of he intense rivalry between the two clubs.

“Once you start playing games then everything else gets forgotten about,” Forrest told the Glasgow Evening Times.

“I am sure the fans will be right behind him because he will be a really good player for Celtic.”

The only thing Allan should be focused on

The only thing that Scott Allan should be focused on is playing well for Celtic and winning games of football for the club.

There are going to be fans that give him a hard time because of his Rangers connections, but he can win those supporters with positive performances.

Any fan can forgive and forget if they see commitment and passion coming from a player, after a controversial move.

What will be interesting is to see how Allan goes about forcing his way into the first team on a regular basis because Deila already has a number of good midfield options.

It’s an exciting opportunity and one he should be looking to relish, not shy away from.
