Rangers defeated Alloa Athletic 5-1 away from home in the Scottish Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Craig Paterson has expressed his admiration of the current Rangers squad on BBC Radio Scotland.

The former Rangers defender made his comments following the Gers’ victory over Alloa Athletic away from home on Sunday afternoon.

The Glasgow outfit made it two wins out of two in the Scottish Championship with a 5-1 triumph over Alloa at the Indodrill Stadium.

James Tavernier put Rangers in the lead with a thumping finish in the fourth minute, but Michael Chopra restored party for the hosts just three minutes later.

However, it was all Rangers after that, as Martyn Waghorn made it 2-1 to the visitors moments later from the penalty spot.

Jason Holt ended the game as a contest in the 39th minute, and Kenny Miller made it 4-1 before half time and added a second in the 85th minute.

Paterson was impressed with the performance of his former club Rangers and told BBC Radio Scotland: “Rangers do look like a good and really slick outfit.”

Rangers started their 2015-16 Scottish Championship campaign with a 3-1 victory over St. Mirren at Inbox earlier this month.
