Sunderland fans react on Twitter to M'Vila's performance against Norwich

Sunderland lost 3-1 to Norwich City on Saturday but what did Black Cats fans make of Yann M'Vila's contribution?

Sunderland’s start to the new Premier League season does not bode well for the months ahead with the Black Cats following up their 4-2 defeat to Leicester City last weekend with a 3-1 home loss against Norwich City.

These are exactly the kind of matches Sunderland need to be winning if they want to avoid another relegation scrap, and yet for now they are proving easy pickings for the sides around them.

Of all the Sunderland players on show on Saturday, new signing Yann M’Vila was one of the few to leave the field with any credit.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder looked impressive throughout and while he could not prevent Norwich from running out easy winners he showed enough to suggest he is a great addition to this Sunderland squad.

The only thing is he cannot be expected to do everything on his own, so his teammates need to step up – and quickly – while more new additions are vital for Dick Adovaat’s side before the transfer window closes.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Sunderland fans thought of M’Vila’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
