French outlet RMC report Newcastle United expect to clinch the transfer for Florian Thauvin this week.
It is reported that Newcastle have submitted a £12 million offer to Marseille for Thauvin - and offered Remy Cabella on a season long loan as part of the deal.
Marseille consider the offer 'irrefusable', report RMC, with Newcastle offering the money up front immediately.
The Ligue 1 side are in a state of transition after Marcelo Bielsa's recent resignation, which is said to have softened Thauvin's previous stance of wanting to stay at the club.
Cabella had been expected to enjoy similar success to countryman Yohan Cabaye at Newcastle last season, after the way his former Montpellier president talked him up, but he never really got going.
The attacking midfielder underwhelmed, scoring just one goal in 31 appearances in the Premier League, and provided only two assists.
Thauvin struck five goals last season in Ligue 1, contributing four assists.
