Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Charlie Austin’s performance for Queens Park Rangers on Saturday evening.
The 26-year-old forward started the Championship game against Cardiff City at Loftus Road and played for 68 minutes.
Austin was also on target for QPR, scoring in the 56th minute to help the London outfit secure a 2-2 draw with the Bluebirds at home.
During his time on the pitch, the Englishman took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 57% and made two blocks.
It was not exactly a great performance from Austin, who was arguably Rangers’ best player in the Premier League last season.
The former Burnley star scored 18 goals and created 23 chances in 35 Premier League appearances for QPR during the 2014-15 campaign.
Austin had a pass accuracy of 66% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and won 86 headers, 15 dribbles and 16 tackles.
According to The Mirror, Premier League outfit Newcastle are keen on signing Austin this month, with West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur also claimed to have interest in him.
Following Austin’s performance for QPR against Cardiff, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to have their say.
