Lucas Leiva’s agent in Italy ahead of possible AC Milan transfer - Tuttosport

The Italian press are claiming that the Brazilian’s representative is trying to fashion a transfer to the Rossoneri.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva could well be set for a move to AC Milan, with his agent in Italy this weekend to discuss a potential transfer, Tuttosport are claiming.

The Brazil international is a long-serving player for the Anfield outfit but has fallen down Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order this season.

With Jordan Henderson and James Milner likely to accommodate the starting berths in the Reds’ midfield and Emre Can also in contention, the South American looks set for prolonged periods on the sidelines.

Tuttosport claims that Lucas’ representative Kia Joorabchian has flown to Italy this weekend for negotiations with AC Milan over a potential switch to the Stadio San Siro.

The report also suggests that cross-town rivals Inter are also weighing up a move for the Anfield enforcer.

The 28-year-old has been on the Liverpool books since signing from boyhood club Gremio back in 2007 and has been a reliable figure for the team over the years.

However, Lucas only started 16 Premier League games last season, the fewest in a number of campaigns, with his importance to the Anfield outfit seemingly dropping.

Brendan Rodgers admitted at a recent press conference that some of his squad were likely to leave this summer, with the Brazil international looking like a prime candidate for an exit.
