The Reds have spent big on Benteke this summer in a bid to reinvigorate their attack, with Brendan Rodgers’ men activating the powerhouse forward’s £32.5 million Aston Villa release clause.
As such, a lot of pressure is on the Belgian forward’s shoulders to deliver goals this season that would potentially fire the Anfield team back into the Premier League’s top four.
Despite this, Snodin believes that Lukaku will be the Belgian forward with the most goals at the end of the season and eclipse his national compatriot.
"It's a massive plus for the other lads in the team when they knock the ball beyond the opposition and have big Rom to use his power and strength to get on the end of things, running behind the defence,” he told The Liverpool Echo.
"I've had a few little side bets with Liverpool fans, only a couple of pounds, that he'll get more goals than Christian Benteke.
“Benteke is a really good player and he will score goals, but throughout the season, Rom will get more goals than him.”
Lukaku was at his dynamic best for Roberto Martinez’s side in a 3-0 win against Southampton yesterday, with the former Chelsea man helping himself to two goals in his side’s away win.
The pair are direct competition for each other for the Belgian national side and will want to stake a claim to Marc Wilmots ahead of the country’s probable involvement at Euro 2016 next summer.
