West Ham United star Dimitri Payet kept up his superb goals and assists record on Saturday despite his side crashing to a 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City.
Ozil, a World Cup winner with Germany, joined the Gunners for a club record fee from Real Madrid after earning a reputation as an assist king while in Spain.
His status didn’t deceive Premier League observers as he soon started to make an impact at the Emirates stadium, creating multiple chances for his teammates over the past two years.
However, Ozil’s record is actually inferior to Payet’s who over the same period of time has been racking up chance after chance for his teammates in France and now in England.
After being directly involved in West Ham’s opener against Arsenal last weekend, the 28-year-old was at it again against Leicester and has now been directly involved in as many as 93 goals since August 2010.
93 - Since Aug 2010 Dimitri Payet has scored or assisted 93 goals in the top 5 leagues, four more than Ozil & Mata in that period. Classy.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) August 15, 2015

As per the table above, throughout the 2014/15 campaign Payet proved to be a truly stunning playmaker as he racked up an incredible 17 assists and averaged 3.7 key passes per match.
While some may say Ligue 1 is an inferior league to the Premier League, Marseille aren’t anywhere near as dominant as Arsenal therefore his record in comparison to Ozil is all the more impressive.
