The midfielder also insists that it is a really exciting time at the club despite their Europa League exit.
New manager Slaven Bilic has been busy this summer, as he has looked to revamp the squad left to him by Sam Allardyce in his own image.
The likes of Dimitri Payet, Pedro Obiang, Angelo Ogbonna and several others have arrived for relatively big fees, with a couple more expected, with Bilic keen to have his side playing more attractive football under his leadership.
As far as Poyet is concerned, this is one of the best squads they have had in the last few seasons, with club veterans such as Mark Noble in agreement.
“We are not short of confidence. The squad we have is very strong,” he wrote on Kicca.
“I’d say it’s one of the strongest squads there has been at West Ham for the last few seasons. The likes of Mark Noble would say this is one of the best squads he’s been involved in at West Ham.”
Exciting times despite Europa League exit
There had been high hopes that the Hammers would enjoy a run in Europe as well this season, having qualified for the Europa League via the Fair Play League last season.
That saw them start this campaign early as they tried to negotiate three early preliminary qualifying rounds. However, things did not go to plan as minnows FC Astra Giurgiu, to much disappointment, knocked them out.
Poyet though, says that although their exit was disappointing, with the squad they have, they could achieve anything.
“It’s a really exciting time for everyone at the club,” he added.
“We got knocked out of the Europa League which was disappointing but at the end of the day with the squad that we have, we can achieve anything.”
