The Dane is said to be keen on the idea of playing in Italy.
Tutto Mercato Web reported that Italian paper Quotidiano Sportivo was yesterday leading with a headline suggesting that Juventus are keen on signing Eriksen from Tottenham.
The claim is that Juventus chief Beppe Marotta is ready to launch an €18 million bid for the player this summer.
Of course that would be flatly denied by Spurs. That equates to roughly £13 million – a paltry fee for a player of Eriksen’s ability.
Reports last night from the Daily Mail report that Spurs will definitely not entertain an offer for the player. Spurs have told Juve that the Dane is not for sale at any price.
But the report goes on to make it clear that the midfielder is in fact keen on a move to Italy. They claim that he would be interested in playing his football in Turin and Serie A, where his skillset would be appreciated.
On top of that there is Juventus’ Champions League place to consider, which might convince any player to head to Juve.
Tottenham fans will hope that Eriksen is not pining for a move to Italy at this time, as he is integral to their future success.
