Scott Allan has snubbed the chance to join Scottish Championship side Rangers to move to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the signing of Scott Allan by Celtic.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have recruited the midfielder on a four-year contract from Scottish Championship side Hibernian, as announced on the club's official website.

The 23-year-old was superb for Hibs in the second tier of Scottish football last season and almost guided them to the Premiership.

The former Dundee United and West Bromwich Albion man established himself one of the best midfielders in Scotland outside the top flight.

Allan will now be looking to make himself a regular in the Celtic first team and help them win the league title for the fifth season in a row.

However, things could have been all too different, as Rangers were interested in the former Scotland Under-21 international.

According to Sky Sports, the midfielder grew up supporting the Gers and also handed in a transfer request at Hibernian in order to push through a move to the Glasgow giants this summer.

Following the transfer of Allan to Celtic, Rangers fans took to Twitter to have their say.
