Michu only plans return to Spain as a last resort

Representatives of Swansea City forward Michu claim the Spaniard has offers in England, Italy and France.

Returning to Spain has been just one of the options Swansea City forward Michu and his representatives have been managing over recent months, but according to Ideal Granada, a return home is apparently not a priority.

Granada CF have been one La Liga club linked with interest in Michu, after their manager Jose Ramon Sandoval admitted last month, he'd welcome the opportunity of working with the player once more. They did so at Rayo Vallecano when the Spaniard produced a superb season, scoring 15 goals in 37 matches in La Liga, plus two goals in two Copa del Rey outings.

This is the kind of form which took him to Swansea City in the summer of 2012. Form which continued, as he smashed in 22 goals during his debut season with the Welsh club, also helping them to win the League Cup.

However, although the representatives of Michu have suggested Granada are the option "that seduces most of all in Spain," they also explained to Ideal reporter Sergio Yepes, a move there is now looking "unlikely" whilst the player considers other offers.

The agents of Michu also revealed he is giving preference to offers "in England, Italy or even maybe France," given that "possibilities have already arisen" in those countries. Therefore at this stage, he isn't planning a return to Spain, despite reports recently which suggested he'd been offered to Sevilla.

"He still hasn't rescinded his contract with Swansea City yet though." Michu's people were keen to point out, which for them appears to be the sticking point right now.

As such, the immediate future of the 29-year-old still remains uncertain. Few clubs are willing to pay a transfer fee, seemingly because of fears over his injury problems, although there are plenty waiting for his situation at Swansea to be resolved and the chance of signing him for free.

Meanwhile and with the chances of signing Michu seemingly dead in the water, Granada have turned their attentions elsewhere, as they look to strengthen their attacking options. A bid has been lodged for Thievy Bifouma, which is awaiting agreement from RCD Espanyol.
